FELDENKRAIS
The Feldenkrais Method uses gentle touch, movement and directs attention to increase self awareness and helps you return to easy, fluid movement and balance. The lessons consist of comfortable, easy movements that gradually evolve into movements of greater range and complexity. The lessons attempt to make one aware of his/her habitual neuromuscular patterns and rigidities and encourage you to expand your options for new ways of moving while increasing sensitivity and improving efficiency. The goal is to learn how one's most basic movements can be improved.
Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984) was the founder of the Feldenkrais method. As well as a physicist and physiologist, he was a pioneer in the educational theory of movement. He considered body and mind an indivisible whole. The Method is taught in two forms: In Group Awareness Through Movement lessons you are verbally guided through gentle movement sequences which help you learn to move easily and efficiently and Individual Functional Integration lessons add the element of touch as a teaching tool and is more responsive to your individual situation and limitations.
Els can speak Dutch, English and German and will make sure that you understand what is going on at all times. You can book in for a group class, a workshop (for special groups with a specific theme for at least half a day) or individual lessons.
The Tuesday night and Thursday morning hour long classes are held in Poirterslaan, Eindhoven. Wednesday evening class in the Jasonstraat (Woensel). Thursday evening class in 't Brandpunt in Helmond Brandevoort.For more information please contact: Els van Roosmalen on 040 211 0239.

In an eight week Mindfulness course you develop new ways to respond to challenges that life presents. It combines meditation, mindful breathing, bodyscan and mindful movement to help cope with stress, pain, illness and challenging situations by using moment-to-moment awareness. Mindfulness practice is cultivating greater awareness of the unity of mind and body.
The course is based upon the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training developed by Jon Kabat Zinn (1944) Ph.D. in molecular biology.
This course can help you:
Deal more effectively with stress and worries
Face illness and pain with greater confidence
Restore balance, control and peace of mind
Relax more easily and therefore gain more enjoyment in life
You can book in for training in a group or on an individual basis.

This is a link to the Studio Zuid in the centre of Eindhoven. They hold classes for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. They organise classes or individual tuition. The classes are held in Dutch, but if you are an English speaker, you just have to let the Teachers know and they will translate anything you don't understand. All the teachers speak English.
