BUSES:
There are multiple bus links within the Eindhoven region. The link below is in Dutch (sorry) but shows in detail the main Eindhoven region, and all of the bus links and associated route numbers to get from place to place.
Most of the bus stops in the city and surrounding regions have electronic displays within the bus stops, showing the number of the buses which are scheduled in the next hour or so and also the number of minutes until the bus(es) will arrive. Like the trains mentioned below, these are pretty accurate and normally on time. There is also normally a bus timetable either within the bus stop itself or mounted on the bus stop post beside the stop, showing the timetable for the day for the various services.
TRAINS:
The train service is very good in the Netherlands. There are good (direct) links to Schiphol from Eindhoven via. the train service.
Ask about the platform (Spoor) when you buy your ticket, or check on the electronic signs at the station.
The signs below can be a bit strange to read initially, but easy once you get the basics. The time the train leaves is at the top of the sign (in this case 15:08) - note, they usually leave right on time ! The writing on the left are the places the train goes through during the journey - note, it only stops at these locations, so you can count your stops to make sure you get off at the correct one ! The larger name on the bottom right is the final destination. The RED writing gives details of where you have to change trains for another given destination, in this case Schiphol, and where to change, in this case Duivendrecht.
TRAIN TIMETABLE and BUYING TICKETS
AIR TRAVEL:
The airport is a bus ride away from the main train station, and buses run to the airport every 10mins or so (No. 401 from the bus station). There are several airlines who operate from Eindhoven airport - best to click on the link for an up-to-date service listing.
TAXIS:
Taxis are available directly outside the main train station, outside the airport and from several companies operating within the Eindhoven region.
